Bulletins/Announcements
St. Paul Lutheran’s Mission is to be an
expression of God’s compassion in our community and beyond.
WE REMEMBER IN OUR PRAYERS: Jim Stafford,
Deb Lange, Hilma Burnham, Brett Precord, Elana Aal, Lisa
Borchard, Karen Bisson, Chuck Connolly, Cliff Wyman, Lois
Cramer, Lisa Taylor, Alice Cornell, Nicholas Laurent, Karin
Hamann, Mary Lou Holmes, Sammy Wozniak, Jodi Headley, Sue
Robb, Lois Chapman, Sally Barney, Randy Stewart, Rita Jolin,
Don Urban, and Joe Kluce. (Prayer is the best medicine and
we are prepared to pray indefinitely for folks. Would you
please help the church office keep our list current? Unless
we know otherwise, our normal practice is to remove names
after a month. Thank you for your partnership in prayer.)
We remember our prayer partners in the
North/West Lower Michigan Synod:

This week we join in prayer with the other
LARCC churches (Grace Lutheran, Trinity Episcopal, First
Congregational, St. Anne, St. Mary, St. Bernard and St. John
the Baptist Catholic churches) for the Altar Ministry at St.
John the Baptist Catholic Church.
Anna Mae Boboltz is looking to train an
apprentice to handle the archives of St. Paul. The 136 year
history of our congregation is fascinating and no one knows
it better than Anna Mae…and she is a great teacher. So, if
continuing history and the opportunity to learn from a neat
lady interest you, the Holy Spirit is probably poking you to
be an apprentice archivist. Please contact Anna Mae for
more information, 354-5376.
The February Service Activity is Souper bowl
of Caring. Items needed for the Alpena Area: canned goods.
Please place items in collection baskets in the narthex,
fellowship hall or entry in to the Sanctuary. Questions?
Call Sandi Owens at 356-4039 or sowens@charter.net
The team that St. Paul sent to Cameroon has
returned in good order. Georgene Hildebrand, Burt Basney,
Marty Cantleberry, Pastor Paul, and Don Albrecht (St. John
Lutheran Chruch/Saginaw) learned a great deal and carried
out the objectives with which the congregation charged them.
On Sunday, February 17, at 9:20 a.m. and also on Saturday,
February 23, at 6:45 p.m. in the multi-purpose room, you are
all invited to come hear and see their report to the
congregation. They will have a slide show, written report,
and will be eager to respond to your questions. For more
info, contact Don Cantleberry 354-5504.
Coffee Hour: Lois Circle is going to do the
coffee hour for the month of February. The Education
Committee will do March and the Crafters will do April. If
you or your group would like to host a month please call
Sandy Froggett at 358-0118.
Reading God’s Word at Home: The Egermeier’s
Bible Story Book readings for next week are: Abram Follows
God, page 20, and Nicodemus Comes to Jesus, page 378.
Parents, will you invest ten minutes a day in your children
by reading God’s word with them? All it takes is time. I’ll
bet you’re willing to give it.
Council packets are done and may be picked up
in the Narthex.
Head to the Heart will be sponsoring a
viewing of the movie “Passion of the Christ” on Sunday,
March 9 after the 10:30 service, for anyone interested.
Parents are encouraged to attend with their children. Lunch
will be served. Please RSVP to Becky Hawks at 354-5361 so
we can plan accordingly. Thanks.
The New Day Singers of Alpena will present a
spring musical concert on Friday, at March 7 at 7:30 p.m.
at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Admission is free. Come enjoy
an evening of sacred gospel, and contemporary selections in
a cappella harmony. If you have any questions please
contact David Usher at 471-9182.
