The January Service Activity is Layettes for
refugee camps, hospitals, and villages around the world.
Items needed in each layette are: two shirts or Onesies,
two gowns or sleepers (with or without feet), two receiving
blankets, four cloth diapers, flat fold preferred, one
sweater or sweatshirt, two washcloths, one bath-size bar
(4-5 oz) of gentle soap (in its original wrapping) and two
diaper pins. Please place one or more items in collection
baskets in the narthex, fellowship hall or entry in to the
Sanctuary. Questions? Call Sandi Owens at 356-4039.
Reading God’s Word at Home: The Egermeier’s
Bible Story Book readings for next week are: Jesus Makes
Five New Friends, page 373, and The Wedding at Cana, page
376. Parents, will you invest ten minutes a day in your
children by reading God’s word with them? All it takes is
time. I’ll bet you’re willing to give it.
This week we join in prayer with the other
LARCC churches (Grace Lutheran, Trinity Episcopal, First
Congregational, St. Anne, St. Mary, St. Bernard and St. John
the Baptist Catholic churches) for the Choir and Cantors at
St. Bernard Catholic Church.
Habitat for Humanity is in need of volunteers
to help with the renovation of their new ReStore located at
400 W. Chisholm. The construction supervisor is at the
building most week days from 9 to 4 and would welcome any
help that is offered. If you have any questions please
contact Suzan Krey at 356-3509.
The LARCC Christian Unity Service will be
held on Wednesday, January 23 at 7:00 p.m. at St. John the
Baptist Catholic Church. This unique worship service is to
celebrate our ecumenical similarities during this week of
prayer for Christian Unity. Participants will include
clergy members from various churches and a combined choir.
A reception and social hour will follow in St. John the
Baptist church’s fellowship hall. All are invited to join
us. Please call Don Smith, 354-4479, if you have any
questions.
God gave each of us spiritual gifts. If you
would like to find out what those gifts are and how to use
them to glorify God, we can help. St. Paul will be having a
Spiritual Gifts Workshop on Wednesday, January 30, at 6:30
p.m. With God’s help, we will identify the gifts and the
many ways God would love for you to use them. Please call
Kathy Froggett to register at 354-7126 after 5:00 p.m. or
Linda in the church office, 356-1658. Feel free to bring a
friend. We look forward to spending time with you.
Boy Scouts of America Troop 92 will be having
a Spaghetti Dinner on Friday, February 1 at St. Paul
Lutheran Church. The dinner will be held from 4:00
p.m. – 7:00 p.m. and will feature spaghetti with meat sauce,
fresh bread, large salad bar, beverage and dessert.
Children will be $3.00, adults - $8.00, and family -
$20.00. All proceeds will go towards summer camp. If you
have any questions please call Ken Johnson at 356-1589.
Coffee Hour: WELCA is going to do the coffee
hour for the month of January. Lois Circle will do February,
the Education Committee will do March and the Crafters will
do April. If you or your group would like to host a month
