St. Paul Lutheran Church Women of the ELCA is
looking for a Treasurer! The WELCA Treasurer is entrusted
with the custody of the unit’s funds, which includes
bookkeeping and transmittal of offerings. Please call
Cathy Moe, 354-2858, if you are interested or need
additional information.
Coffee Hour: WELCA is going to do the coffee
hour for the month of January. If you or your group would
like to host a month please call Sandy Froggett at
358-0118.
The December Service Activity is Stocking
Stuffers & Hats, Mittens and Scarves for the Salvation Army
and Sunrise Mission. Items needed: laundry bags,
deodorant, tooth brush and paste, diapers/wipes, nail
clippers/manicure items, socks (men and women) razors and
cream, notebooks, gift cards (Wal-Mart, Wendy’s, McDonalds),
hats, mittens, scarves and gloves. Questions? Call Mary at
595-5675. Please place items in the collection baskets in
the narthex, fellowship hall or entry into the Sanctuary.
To all our church family who prayed for Ralph
and me during his illness; because of your prayers and God’s
grace, Ralph was truly able to give his suffering and death
to the sacred heart of Jesus all for God’s glory; because of
your prayers and God’s grace, we both were given much
strength, comfort and courage during this difficult but
beautiful journey. Thank you and may God bless each and

The Christmas Eve Worship Services will be
Monday, December 24 at 5:30 p.m., 8:00 p.m. & 11:00 p.m.
Holy Communion will be served at all services. The
following weekend services will continue at the regular
time: Saturday, December 29, at 5:30 p.m., and Sunday,
December 30, at 8:00 a.m. & 10:30 a.m. Please note that
there will be No Sunday School on December 23 or 30, but be
ready to come back on January 6 for a fun-filled mid-year
Rally Day!
The Sixteenth Annual Christmas Church Tour
will be Thursday, December 27th from 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. Come
and enjoy the symbols, sights and sounds of the Christmas
season at local area churches. Watch for an advertisement
in an upcoming Alpena News.

attendance for the first half of the Sunday School year:

Mark Your Calendars! The Epiphany Dessert is
scheduled for January 5th after the 5:30 p.m. service.

This week we join in prayer with the other
LARCC churches (Grace Lutheran, Trinity Episcopal, First
Congregational, St. Anne, St. Mary, St. Bernard and St. John
the Baptist Catholic churches) for the Prayer Line at St.
John the Baptist Catholic Church.
UPCOMING BAPTISM CLASS: Would you like help
raising a healthy baby and becoming the parents you have
always wanted to be? Join us January 13, 20, 27 and
February 3 from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. in the lounge. Classes
are taught by Dr. Jamie and Marga Decker and Pastor Paul.

Reading God’s Word at Home: The Egermeier’s
Bible Story Book readings for next week are: The Angel
Visits Mary, page 356, and A Wonderful Baby’s Birth, page
358. Parents, will you invest ten minutes a day in your
children by reading God’s word with them? All it takes is
time. I’ll bet you’re willing to give it.
