Parents, will you invest ten minutes a day in your children by reading God’s word with them? All it takes is time.  I’ll bet you’re willing to give it.

This week we join in prayer with the other LARCC churches (Grace Lutheran, Trinity Episcopal, First Congregational, St. Anne, St. Mary, St. Bernard and St. John the Baptist Catholic churches) for the Ladies Altar Society at St. Bernard Catholic Church.

Particular opportunity to express Christ's compassion:  Our pastors are aware of families in need this season.  If you would like to give to help meet their need, please speak with either Pastor Paul or Pastor Rod.  God bless your generosity.

We welcome into the kingdom of God through the sacrament of Holy Baptism (Sun. 10:30 a.m.) HARRISON KASZUBOWSKI, son of Aaron and Rhianna Kaszubowski.  His sponsors are Abbi Kaszubowski and Brian Schiller.  May our Lord surround him with His grace as he grows to know Him as Lord and Savior.

On November 25, the adult Sunday class will focus on Golden or Rusty Years: How to care for and communicate with aging parents.  The adult class meets in the multi-purpose room, 9:20-10:15 and these sessions are taught by Pastor Paul.

4th Annual Advent Breakfast: All-You-Can-Eat pancakes served with sausage, orange juice, milk, coffee and muffin will be held on Sunday, December 2nd at St Paul Lutheran Church from 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.  The cost is $6.00 adult and $3.00 child (age 12 & under). The breakfast is sponsored by the 7th and 8th grade Head to the Heart Confirmation students of St Paul Lutheran Church.  Tickets are available now or just come & join us on December 2nd.  This fundraiser will support the H2H trip in May.  If you have any questions contact Becky Hawks 354-5361 or Jim Bachmann 356-6726.

Christmas bazaar items will be available for sale in the gym until December 1st.  If you made an item and wish to take it home please feel free to do so or they will be stored until next year.

WELCA Christmas Dinner – All women of St. Paul are invited to a Christmas dinner, Monday, December 10 in the dining room.  Tickets are $10 each and are in the church office.  There will be punch from 6:00 – 6:30 with dinner at 6:30.  The dinner is being hosted by Lois Circle.  If you have any questions contact the church office at 356-1658.

The St. Paul Christmas Program will be December 15th at the 5:30 p.m. service.  The dates for the program practices are: December 6 at 6:30 p.m. and December 14 from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. For those who want to participate or if you have any questions please call Kristi Werth at 356-3634.  Music selections need to be approved by Julie Wood so there are no duplications.  Thank you.

The family of Rod and Lisa Borchard would like to thank everyone for their support at last week’s benefit dinner and walk/run.  The outpouring from St. Paul members, along with the community of Alpena was tremendous.  Lisa continues to fight ALS with a great attitude and prayers from a loving congregation.  May the Holy Spirit guide Lisa, Rod, Caleb, and Lauren on the tough road that lies ahead.
