The Head to the Heart Students are sponsoring
a service event for the month of November. You can help!
They are collecting items for overseas armed forces. The
items needed are: AA Batteries, Hard Candy, Gum, Beef Jerky,
Single Packet Drink Mix, Greeting Cards, Magazines, Personal
Hygiene Items, Playing Cards, Phone Cards, Stationary Items,
and Stamps. Please leave items in the designated basket in
the Dining Room. Thank You! If you have any questions please
call Val Urban at 356-4613.
The Immanuel Lutheran Church is sponsoring a
blood drive at: First Presbyterian Church, 1600 Chisholm
Street, Alpena, Michigan on Wednesday, November 14 from
12:00 noon – 5:45 p.m. You must have a photo ID or donor
card to donate. We need your donation to help provide the
2,000 blood products used in Michigan every day. Each pint
can save up to three hospital patients. Donating blood is
safe, it’s simple, it saves lives.
We welcome into the kingdom of God through
the sacrament of Holy Baptism (Sat. 5:30 p.m.) Brody
Michael Steinke, son of Kaitlyn Thompson and Ian Steinke.
His sponsors are Adrienne Thompson and Adam Thompson. May
our Lord surround him with His grace as he grows to know Him
as Lord and Savior.
The St. Paul Christmas Program will be
December 15th at the 5:30 p.m. service. For those who want
to participate or if you have any questions please call
Kristi Werth at 356-3634. Music selections need to be
approved by Julie Wood so there are no duplications. Thank
you.
The NOVEMBER SERVICE ACTIVITY is to purchase
100 T-shirts for our members who are traveling to Cameroon,
Africa to present as gifts to students and their families.
The shirts will have printing in English – something the
people in Cameroon appreciate very much. The shirts cost
$6.00 each. You may purchase as many shirts as you want by
placing your donation in the offering or taking it to the
church office. Flyers with detailed information and a
contribution form at the bottom are available in the
November newsletter and in the Narthex. We thank you for
supporting our Global Mission program in Cameroon. Contact
Georgene at 356-2505.
This week we join in prayer with the other
LARCC churches (Grace Lutheran, Trinity Episcopal, First
Congregational, St. Anne, St. Mary, St. Bernard and St. John
the Baptist Catholic churches) for the Ushers Group at St.
Anne Catholic Church.
Reading God’s Word at Home: The Egermeier’s
Bible Story Book readings for next week are: The Temple Is
Finished, page 338, Ezra Teaches God’s Law, page 340, and
Jesus’ Enemies Come with Questions, page 467. Parents, will
you invest ten minutes a day in your children by reading
God’s word with them? All it takes is time. I’ll bet you’re
willing to give it.
