CONDOLENCES TO: the family and friends of Mildred Milligan who passed away August 30, 2007.  Her funeral was held at St. Paul Lutheran on Wednesday, September 5, 2007.

Attention Jr. and Sr. High youth: You're all invited to the newly formed Ecumenical Youth Ministry's "Progressive Lock-in." Join us for dinner at 6pm on September 14th at First Presbyterian Church progressing to 3 other churches through out the evening and ending with breakfast at First United Methodist at 9am on September 15th.  Lots of food, fun & fellowship! The September Service Activity is items for Huron House and Hope House for area teens.  Items needed for Huron House (for teenage boys in Alpena):  Backpacks, school supplies, sporting equipment, shampoo, hair gel, games and hygiene items.  Items needed for Hope House (for teenage girls in Alpena):  Hand lotion, shampoo, hair conditioner, bar soap, liquid soap, toothbrushes, hairbrushes, combs, hair ties, hair bands, flip flops, curling irons, dental floss and nail clippers. Please place donations in the provided baskets in the narthex, hallway, or fellowship hall. If you have any questions call Cathy Moe at (989) 354-2858. 

Congratulations to Travis and Jamie (Peck) Kramer on their wedding, September 8, 2007.  May the Lord bless this union. 

Continuing A Legacy Seminar:  Join others from St. Paul on September 17 at 6:00 p.m. for this seminar packed with information on wills, trusts and the latest in tax advantages in estate planning.  Learn how to support our own Endowment Fund, and discover ways of giving to ministries for the long term work of the church.  Denise Burke, Phil Straley and Bryan Strong will present some valuable ideas.  Reservations are appreciated to help us plan for this event. We are looking for a 5th grade Sunday school teacher.  If you would like to serve in this way or if you have any questions please contact Joanne Gallagher at 657-0481 or jayalgae@hotmail.com. 

The crafters and ladies of the church are sponsoring the Coffee Hour for the months of September and October.  All donations will go to assist our friend Lisa Borchard with her needs. 

This week we join in prayer with the other LARCC churches (Grace Lutheran, Trinity Episcopal, First Congregational, St. Anne, St. Mary, St. Bernard and St. John the Baptist Catholic churches) for the Music Ministry at Grace Lutheran Church. 

The Adult Bible Study group will begin meeting again on Monday, September 17 at 9:30 a.m.  Everyone is welcome.  Please call Don Bromund if you have any questions at 356-0397. 

Reading God’s Word at Home: The Egermeier’s Bible Story Book readings for next week are:  Jeremiah Warns the People, page 303, The Israelites Forget God, page 149, and Ehud Judges Israel, page 150.  Parents, will you invest ten minutes a day in your children by reading God’s word with them? All it takes is time.  I’ll bet you’re willing to give it. 

Cub Scout Pack 3092 from St Paul’s is looking for boys who are interested in joining.  Sign-ups will take place at Ella White School on September 11 & 12 from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm.  If you need additional information please call Becky Hawks at 354-5361.
