This week we join in prayer with the other LARCC churches (Grace Lutheran, Trinity Episcopal, First Congregational, St. Anne, St. Mary, St. Bernard and St. John the Baptist Catholic churches) for the Youth Ministry at St. Bernard Catholic Church.

Reading God’s Word at Home: The Egermeier’s Bible Story Book readings for next week are:  Worship at the Tabernacle, page 108, and The Second Passover, page 109.  Parents, will you invest ten minutes a day in your children by reading God’s word with them? All it takes is time.  I’ll bet you’re willing to give it.

Coffee Hour: If you or your group would like to volunteer to host a month please call Sandy Froggett at 358-0118.

Adult Education Class:  10 Bible Stories Every Christian Should Know.   This week and next we are studying The Exodus.  This class meets on Sundays in the dining room at 9:20 a.m. and is led by Pastor Paul.  Child care is provided in the nursery.

The March Service Activity is Lutheran World Relief Health Kits.  Include the following items in each health kit: One hand towel, one washcloth (dark colors recommended) one bath-size bar of soap (in its original wrapping), one adult-size toothbrush (in its original packaging), one 5-7 oz. squeeze tube of toothpaste, one comb, wide tooth preferred, one metal nail file or nail clippers with file attached, six Band-Aids (preferably ½ to ¾”); secure together with a rubber band.  All items should be new.  If donating an entire kit: Wrap smaller items in the washcloth; wrap washcloth and remaining items in the towel and tie securely with ribbons or yarn.  Do not enclose the kit or any of its contents in plastic bags. Please leave donations of one or more items in the designated green baskets, found in the Narthex, top of the stairs or Fellowship Hall. Questions: Contact Sandi Owens at 356-4039 (sowens@charter.net).

We welcome into the kingdom of God through the sacrament of Holy Baptism (Sat. 5:30 p.m.) Aubrey Elizabeth Dahn, daughter of Corey and Andrea Dahn.  May our Lord surround her with His grace as she grows to know Him as Lord and Savior.

Employer wanted:  Irene Haselhuhn, Pastor Rod’s wife, is currently working way downstate and St. Paul would like to help get her a job that matches her gifts here in Alpena.  Irene has an excellent work ethic, relates well with people, and has experience in: group homes, marketing, and secretarial fields.  She is currently the office manager for a residential builder.  If you can help Irene with any employment leads, you may call her directly (734-847-0081 home, or 419-467-1369 cell) or you may call Pastor Rod at the church office.

We are looking for a person who would like to serve as the coordinator for the Blood Drive on May 9th which is sponsored by St. Paul Lutheran Church.  Please call the church office to volunteer or for more information at 356-1658.

MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES:  We are in need of ushers, communion assistants, and lectors, for all three of the Easter services, April 8.  We also need a person to serve as a “traffic director” during communion distribution for the 9:00 and 10:45 a.m. services.  If you would like to serve in any of these ways please sign up on the sheet in the Narthex, under the service time you are available. We also need ushers for the Good Friday service.  You may sign up on the bottom of the sign-up sheet in the Narthex.  Thank you for your willingness to serve.

The Esther Circle will meet on Tuesday, March 13th.  Lunch will be served.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS:  The Vacation Bible School dates are set for June 17 – 21, from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.  The children are again going to be giving back to the community fleece blankets.  We need donations of coordinating pairs of fleece that measure 1 ½ yards by the full width of the fleece.   If you have any questions please contact Kristi Werth at 356-3634.

We are looking for people who will serve as a link in the prayer chain.  If you are interested in joining this ministry please contact Don Smith at 354-4479.
