This week we join in prayer with the other LARCC churches (Grace Lutheran, Trinity Episcopal, First Congregational, St. Anne, St. Mary, St. Bernard and St. John the Baptist Catholic churches) for the Altar Ministry at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. 

Reading God’s Word at Home: The Egermeier’s Bible Story Book readings for next week are: Jeremiah Warns the People, page 303, The Twelve, page 393, and The Sermon on the Mount, page 394.  Parents, will you invest ten minutes a day in your children by reading God’s word with them? All it takes is time.  I’ll bet you’re willing to give it. 

Adult Education Class:  10 Bible Stories Every Christian Should Know.   This week’s story: The Conclusion of Joseph and His Brothers; God’s Hidden Plan Revealed. Next week: Slavery in Egypt and The Call of Moses.  This class meets on Sundays in the dining room at 9:20 a.m. and is led by Pastor Paul.  Child care is provided in the nursery. 

The February Service Activity is Souper Bowl of Caring.  Needed: Cans of Soup for area Food Pantries. Please leave donations of soup in the provided baskets in the Narthex (back of Sanctuary), hallway or Dining Room. Questions: Contact Sandi Owens at 356-4039 (sowens@charter.net).

Mark Your Calendars:  A winter church potluck is scheduled for Sunday, February 25th at noon.  Please bring your favorite dish to pass and come enjoy some wonderful food and fellowship.  If you have any questions please contact Paul Kieliszewski at 354-4800. 

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:  The funeral committee is looking for people to make salads and desserts for church funerals on a rotation basis.  If you would like serve in this way or have any questions please contact Esther Kindt, 471-2274, or the church office at 356-1658. 

Esther Circle will meet on Tuesday, February 13th at 12:30 p.m.  Lunch will be served. 

Coffee Hour: The crafters will be hosting the coffee hour for February.  If you or your group would like to volunteer to host a month please call Sandy Froggett at 358-0118. 

Christian Weight-Loss Fellowship for Women meet weekly in the lounge at 6:30 p.m.  All are welcome.  There is no charge.  Call Jill Kowalski with questions, 356-2882. 

St. Paul Trust and Endowment Fund…working from generation to generation.  Remember St. Paul in your will or trust.  Please call Wayne Kowalski at 356-2882 with any questions. 

The Alpena Kiwanis club is sponsoring a blood drive at the First United Methodist Church (167 Ripley) on February 14 from 11:30 a.m. – 5:15 p.m.  Please call 1-800 GIVE LIFE for more information or for an appointment. 

MARK YOUR CALENDARS:  The Vacation Bible School dates are set for June 17 – 21, from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.  The children are again going to be giving back to the community fleece blankets.  We need donations of coordinating pairs of fleece that measure 1 ½ yards by the full width of the fleece.   If you have any questions please contact Kristi Werth at 356-3634.
