CONDOLENCES TO: The family and friends of
Gary Brilinski who joined our Lord in eternity December 31,
2006. His funeral was held at St. Paul Lutheran Church in
Herron on January 3, 2007.

This week we join in prayer with the other
LARCC churches (Grace Lutheran, Trinity Episcopal, First
Congregational, St. Anne, St. Mary, St. Bernard and St. John
the Baptist Catholic churches) for the Choir and Cantors at
St. Bernard Catholic Church.
Reading God’s Word at Home: The Egermeier’s
Bible Story Book readings for next week are: The Wedding at
Cana, page 376, Jesus Keeps the Passover, page 377, and
Nicodemus Comes to Jesus, page 378. Parents, will you
invest ten minutes a day in your children by reading God’s
word with them? All it takes is time. I’ll bet you’re
willing to give it.
The January Service Activity is LWR layettes
for refugee camps, hospitals, and villages around the
world. The layettes will convey a warm welcome to newborns
and their mothers. Please include the following items in
each layette: Two shirts or Onesies, two gowns or sleepers,
two receiving blankets, four cloth diapers, one sweater, two
washcloths, one bath-size bar of gentle soap, in its
original wrapping, and two diaper pins. Wrap items in one
of the receiving blankets and secure with diaper pins.
Please leave donations in the provided baskets in the
Narthex (back of Sanctuary, hallway or Fellowship Hall.

Adult Education Class: 10 Bible Stories
Every Christian Should Know. This week’s story: More of
Jacob and Esau’s story. Next week: Joseph & His Brothers.
This class meets on Sundays in the dining room at 9:15 a.m.
CALL UPDATE: On Saturday and Sunday, January
6th and 7th, the congregation voted overwhelmingly to extend
a call to Pastor Rodney Haselhuhn. Pastor Rodney has
accepted that call and tentatively plans to start with us
the the week of January 15. His installation has been
scheduled for Sunday, January 21. Please keep Pastor Rodney
and Irene, his wife, in your prayers as they prepare for
this transition.
PLEASE NOTE: The worship schedule for the
weekend of January 20 and 21 will be as follows: Saturday,
January 20, 5:30 p.m. service; On Sunday, January 21 there
will be one service at 10:30 a.m. Pastor Rodney Haselhuhn
will be installed at the Sunday service and Bishop Gary
Hansen will be preaching. Join us for a potluck to
celebrate Pastor Rodney’s installation Sunday the 21st at
noon in the dining room. Please bring a dish to pass such
as a casserole, fruit, salad or dessert. The meat will be
provided. This will be a great opportunity to meet and
welcome Pastor Rodney and his wife Irene.
We welcome into the kingdom of God through
the sacrament of Holy Baptism (Sun 10:30 a.m.) Harry Daniel
Iler and April Jocelynn Iler, children of Jon Iler and Renee
Miller. Their sponsors are Carol Brooks and Jan Iler.
Help is needed to open and close the church
building on the weekends. Please contact Don Urban to
volunteer or if you have any questions at 354-8115.
The Head to the Heart Confirmation class is
collecting returnable cans and bottles. Donations can be
dropped off at the church in the blue barrel outside the
dining room or you may call Becky at 354-5361 if you would
like your donation picked up. Thank you to all the members
of St Paul’s for your support.
Coffee Hour: The crafters will be hosting the
coffee hour for January and February. If you or your group
would like to volunteer to host a month please call Sandy
Froggett at 358-0118.
Council packets are ready today and may be
picked up in the Narthex.

February 3, 11, and 18 in the lounge from 9:00 a.m. – 10:15
