The Outreach Team will be collecting for Habitat’s “Building on Faith Weekend” Sunday Sept 24th.  This will be an opportunity for St Paul Lutheran to help families find their place in our community. We ask that you look into your heart and help us by donating whatever you can.  If you would like to know more about how you can help or if you know of a family who may wish to apply for a home you can contact Habitat at 989-356-3509 or e-mail them at www.hfhalpenaarea.org.

The Faith Incubators will present the Entry into Kindergarten Faith Stepping Stone #3, beginning Sunday, September 24th, and continuing through October 1st and October 8th.  In three weeks, we will address three issues: the physical development, emotional development, and spiritual development of kindergarten aged children.  We will meet in the lounge during the Sunday school hour.  If you have any questions, please contact Elly Diamond 727-9971.

Sunday school for 3-6 grades has changed programs to Living the Good News.  This well-established program will deliver the message in Sunday school that matches the church readings every week, allowing children to hear the good news in more than one venue on Sunday.  A complete schedule of verses to be studied along with closely matched Egermier’s readings will be issued to all parents and published on the website so that parent’s can further enhance learning at home throughout the week.  This program is taught in grade-specific classroom settings with a broad variety of activities and learning opportunities that is sure to engage children and parents alike.  We encourage parents to volunteer to assist in classrooms throughout the year in concert with the teachers so that they may witness this traditional yet updated program for themselves.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Joanne Gallagher at 354-3181, 657-0481 or jayalgae@hotmail.com.

Coffee Hour:  The Coffee Hour starts up again this Sunday, September 17th.  If you or your group would like to volunteer to host a month please call Sandy Froggett at 358-0118.

UN International Day of Peace – September 21.  Please join us in observing the UN International Day of Peace.  On September 21, church bells will ring for peace at 12 noon to call people to a minute of silent prayer.  Many area churches will be open for prayer throughout the afternoon.  At 8 pm on September 21, there will be a Candlelight Vigil at Culligan Plaza. All are welcome to participate.  Please bring candles from home or church.  For more information call (989) 356-0837.

To the person that dropped off two coffee cans, one milk jug and one juice container filled with pop can tabs, the week after Labor Day, please contact Linda at the church office.  Thank you.
