Saved to Serve -
In the spring of 1941, the Egyptian passenger liner-freighter,
Zam Zam, was sunk by German forces off the coast of Africa. On
board were Lutheran missionary Lillian Danielson and her six
children, ages 18 months to 11 years.
Hear the story of how they - and all of us - are saved to serve. |

Confessions of Faith - Twelve of our students took
the next step in their faith in the Rite of Confirmation.
They promised to remain connected with God, their parents, and
each other. As part of their confirmation process they
each wrote a Statement of Faith.

confessions by clicking here. (There will be a new one posted
every few weeks....) |

Global Mission - On January 3rd, four persons
from Alpena and one from Saginaw stepped into the new year in
a way they never have before. As part of a team from St. Paul
Lutheran Church, Alpena, they boarded a jetliner for a trip
to Africa. Their destination is Cameroon, a country located on
the western side of the continent, in what is often referred to
as the “bite of Africa”. Their mission was to express Christ’s
compassion and further explore a growing relationship with
villagers and church leaders in Cameroon.

Faith Stepping Stones - Life is a bit like crossing
a rising, rushing river. It is easy to get swept away unless
we have stepping stones: firm places of support that enable us
to make the journey. Faith Stepping Stones are eight steps
along the journey from baptism to high school graduation. The
congregation works with parents in order to gift parents with the
support they need to be great parents, parents who keep their
baptismal promise to their children. Each stepping stone
provides parents an opportunity to be linked with a small group
support system and to: 1. bless their child. 2. be
gifted with physical, emotional, and spiritual support. 3.
be called to accountability/keep their baptismal promises.

Expectations - Pastor Paul
Owens
The first building block
toward a congregation's spiritual health is for members to know
what is expected of them. God has made these expectations known to
us in the Bible. I encourage you to watch the brief video
"Expectations".

expectations.
